18mm-35mm AF Nikkor D -Type IF - ED

18-35 Essential for the Digital/ Film Photographer.

For sale Mint condition. 18-35 Essential for the Digital Photographer. It
is Sharp. On D70, D100 presents a 28mm-52mm Perfect Normal lens. ED glass
element reduces chromatic aberrations providing superior optical
performance - even at maximum aperture. Focus distance of 1 foot to infinity
is ideal for landscape, snapshot, candid, environmental, close-up and full
length portrait photography. Nikon D-type design provides precise distance
information for flash and ambient light exposure processes. Internal
Focusing (IF) design for smooth and fast auto-focus. Has manual aperture
ring. The 18-35 AF-ED is much smaller and lighter than the 17-35. It shares
the same 77 mm filter thread and sunshade, and there is ED glass and an
aspherical lens element.

Action is is surprisingly fast on D1 and F5 and less noisy than many other
lenses. This lens, being particularly compact and small, handles very well
on both D1 series/D2 /D100 / F100 and F5. At the wide end, the 18-35 has
some corner light fall-of wide open, which largely disappears at f/5.6.
Stopping down to f/8 gives very good centre sharpness and the quality
rendition holds up well to f/16. Overall color rendition is crisp and well
saturated. There is some tendency to ghosting and flare under critical light
situations as with most wides. In the normal 35 mm when the lens is set to
longer focal lengths the 18-35 attains nearly the same quality at the 35 mm
setting as that of the expensive 17-35 AFS. It has manual aperture
settings.
