Well, that's been the case for a while. My generous 18" LCD has a
lousy 1.3 mp (1280x1024), which we long surpassed with cameras. Even
the largest and highest resolution monitors rarely go beyond 2 mp. So,
the screen is certainly not what we should use to judge resolution,
unless you view at 100% and shift the image back and forth. Otherwise,
I suggest to get large prints to judge resolution and a 11x17 or
larger print will certainly show much of that resolution difference.
Focus, motion blur, vignetting etc are different stories....
