Depends on the model of digital camera. Ones with slow motor drives, long
shutter lag and tiny frame buffers are not a good choice. Something like the
Canon 1D Mark II, with 8.5 frames/sec for 40 jpegs or 20 RAW files and perhaps
the best autofocus system on any camera is better than pretty much any film
camera, or at least its equal.

Yes, much worse.

High frames/sec rate, deep buffer so you can shoot plenty of images before
writing to disk, fast autofocus, short shutter lag. The best ones right now
are the Nikon D2H, Canon 1D and, by far the best, Canon 1D Mark II.
