There were lots of little things.....Offhand, one I know of was the freedom
to drive without a license....In some states all you needed to get a
driver's license was a quarter and the ability to pull the handle down on a
license dispensing machine. In others, you only needed one if you drove
commercial vehicles, such as trucks, busses or taxis. After the war, you
pretty well needed one to drive anything........
