Agreed, it should have identical performance, since all sub-systems are the
same. But, the Canon lens mount has different physical characteristics than
the Nikon mount, like the flange to film plane distance which may affect
imaging. It's possible that the larger lens opening and flange to sensor
plane distance may give it an advantage. I'm not sure, but I am curious.
